George Fawcett (Alexandria, 25 augustus 1860 – Nantucket, 6 juni 1939) was een Amerikaans acteur uit het tijdperk van de stomme film.
Biografie Fawcett werd geboren op 25 augustus 1860 in Alexandria (Virginia) en studeerde aan de universiteit van Virginia. Aanvankelijk wou hij advocaat worden, maar uiteindelijk werd hij Shakespeare-acteur.

Hij speelde in toneelstukken als Ghosts (1905) met Mary Shaw, The Squaw Man (1905) met William Faversham, The Great John Ganton (1909) met de opkomende actrice Laurette Taylor in de cast en Getting a Polish (1910) met actrice May Irwin. Hij speelde inspecteur Cochrane in het succesvolle Broadway-stuk The Law of the Land uit 1914-1915 in het 48th Street Theatre.
thumb|links|rechtop|In een scène uit Love (1927). Zijn filmdebuut kwam in 1915 in The Majesty of the Law. Tussen 1915 en 1933 verscheen Fawcett in 151 films. Daarnaast regisseerde hij ook drie films: Deadline at Eleven (1920), Little Miss Rebellion (1920) en Such a Little Queen (1921). In 1930 keerde hij terug naar het theater in een productie van The Great John Ganton in het Vine Theater in Los Angeles.
Fawcett was twee keer getrouwd. Zijn eerst huwelijk uit 1891 met Anna Foster Crosman eindigde in 1894 met een scheiding. Daarna trouwde hij met actrice Percy Haswell, met wie hij een dochter kreeg. Dit huwelijk hield stand tot aan zijn dood. Fawcett stierf op 6 juni 1939 in Nantucket op 78-jarige leeftijd aan een hartkwaal.
