Palaeosynthemis is een geslacht van libellen (Odonata) uit de familie van de zuidelijke glanslibellen (Synthemistidae). Behalve Palaeosynthemis alecto die op Halmahera voorkomt, zijn alle soorten van dit geslacht endemisch voor Nieuw-Guinea. & (2020).
