Persephonaster sphenoplax is een kamster uit de familie Astropectinidae.
De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort werd in 1892 gepubliceerd door Francis Jeffrey Bell. (1892). On the Echinoderms collected by the SS. "Fingal" in 1890, and by the SS. "Harlequin" in 1891, off the West coast of Ireland. The Scientific proceedings of the Royal Dublin Society n.s. 7: 522
