Douglas Noel Adams (11 Maart 1952 - 11 Mei 2001) was 'n Engelse skrywer van romans, essays, draaiboeke en toneelstukke. Adams het die grootste bekendheid verwerf vir sy radio-drama en roman The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, wat uiteindelik ontwikkel is in 'n populêre reeks van vyf boeke (wat hy nietemin 'n "trilogie" genoem het). Dit is verder ook aangepas as televisiereeks, 'n verskeidenheid toneelstukke, grafiese roman, rekenaarspeletjie en vollengte film (2005).
Behalwe vir sy romans het Adams ook drie stories vir die televisiereeks Doctor Who geskryf.
