Rheosaurus sulcarostrum is een reptiel uit de familie Gymnophthalmidae.
Naam en indeling De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort werd voor het eerst voorgesteld door Donnelly, MacCulloch, Ugarte & Kizirian in 2006. De soort werd origineel beschreven onder de wetenschappelijke naam Echinosaura sulcarostrum. Lange tijd werd de soort tot het geslacht Echinosaura gerekend, maar in 2019 werd de soort in een eigen geslacht geplaatst: Rheosaurus, waarin het de enige soort is.Vásquez-Restrepo, J.
