Papuathemis is een geslacht van libellen (Odonata) uit de familie van de korenbouten (Libellulidae). De soorten van dit geslacht waren tot 2026 in het geslacht Diplacina ondergebracht. De wetenschappelijke naam van dit geslacht werd voor het voorgesteld door Ian ten Katen, Anna A. Kros, Maria Pàmies-Harder en Vincent J. Kalkman in een publicatie uit 2026.A redefinition of the genus Diplacina Brauer, 1868, with the establishment of Papuathemis gen. nov. (Odonata: Libellulidae) - Odonatologica 55(1-2): 113–128.
